are you sure there are enough blocks free on your memory card?
Well, I've erased both memory cards and ePSXe recreated them when I tried to save, so probably there are...?hushypushy said:are you sure there are enough blocks free on your memory card?
I've tried both ways (although empty cards are created when I try to save from game), but no luck - empty 128kb memory cards were created, but the game says the same - "Not enough space to save to MEMORY CARD"... Maybe 128kb is not enough for DW7?Dark Watcher said:hmm..you should not have deleted them. Simply click on the memory card tab and create new memory cards. You can also use Aldo's Memory Card Manager to see what is stored on them
Then what may be the cause of this problem?hushypushy said:well obviously 128kb is enough for DW7, someone had to play it on the original PSX![]()
hushypushy said:i really dont know. im supposing that it would be something with the emulator incorrectly reporting the existence of a memory card/existence of free space.
No... Do they support the ePSXe save states or can they be converted?have you tried different emulators?
Thanks for your offer!!! I sincerely hope it is possible...Zeke_D said:there is a known problem with DQ4/7 and save states besides you should be periodically natural saving anyway. I have in the past been able to extract the card from the state, and reinsert it after deleting contained saves. post it if you want to and i may be able to take a crack at it in the newxt couple of days.
I tried... This creates an adventure journal at the very begining of the game, but later at save points (churches) it's impossible to save because of the not enough space problem... And if I try to save after putting lost shard into the chest, game says, that it can't even find a corresponding adventure journal...hushypushy said:you can also try playing it from the beginning to see if it works.
Well, thanks for an advice, but then I won't be able to save my current progress and replaying everything again (about 200 hours...) is a bit too much for me...As zake said, do NOT use savestates in the game. now try replaying the game again, and it should probably let you save even after putting the shard.
It seems the source of the problem is really in save states...if you aren't using any and it still doesn't save, then that's weird..
Directory and its contents doesn't have this flag...fireblaster_lyz said:Ensure that your ePSXe directory is NOT read-only.
I was surprised by this warning, because the name of the cards and the path to them are absolutely normal - C:\epsxe\memcards\card0.mcr...hushypushy said:what is the name of your memory card? if it has "weird" characters it wont save. for example, i had a RAR file with japanese characters in the name, and winRAR wouldnt open it. as soon as i renamed it to "aeasvd" (random characters btw) it opened.
Multiple times...hushypushy said:did you try just going with the default, epsxe001.mcr just in case?
