No, it is not. It goes agaisn't Sony's copyright. You are allowed to dump the one from your console, but not to download some other's dump from the net.
Downloading legally
Hey, I was just wondering if it was legal to download bios of the net for a playstation. I own an old school PSX as well as a PS2 but I don't have the means to transfer the bios from my playstation to my computer. However, I'm about as anti-piracy as you can get and was just wondering if it would be legal for me to download bios off a website when I do own the original.

what then would be the cheapest, legal way for me to dump my bios? I have the oldest model PSX (the one w/ the three av cable ports in the back) but it still works occasionally. I really want to be able to just play these on my computer.
I'm a broke college student so any help for dumping my bios for the least amount of money would be greatly appreciate
