Download Speed depends on browsers too?

Well i was downloading something the other day and i use opera. So the download was like 12kbps and then it stopped. Then i used FF and it gave me 30-35kbps continously.

Opera was having a break. What of it?

Usually the browser has nothing to do with download speed. Web pages may be rendered faster, but your ultimate speed footprint rests with your ISP. Your ISP could have simply throttled your speed.

I've always used download accelerators like DAP since they dl faster then any browser can by opening up multiple connections. Plus, there a lot of advanced dl options which you just can't get on a browser.

I hate Firefox. Even though I use it, it decides when to crash, and its downright satanic in carrying it out.

Example. A member here sent me an interesting PM. When i opened it, Firefox crashed. I started up FF again and tried to open the PM again. It crashed again. And again. I then typed "porn" in the search field. Viola! Crash free

Hmm......weird. FF rarely crashes on me, and even when it does, there's usually a good reason behind it (like I opened up wayyy too many tabs or opened up more browsers simultaneously).

Anyway Phil, you can always try good old IE :p:D

That's odd. I actually made my switch to Firefox from Internet Explorer a few years back for a similar reason, because it would crash. It'd always be when I was on a (any) forum when I went to preview a post (which I often did and still do before posting). I'd always get that "has encountered an error and needs to close" crap, and I'd lose my post. Neither Internet Explorer nor Windows was corrupt, as I tried reinstalling Windows (not just for this) and it still did it. Apparently, explorer itself was crashing too, because if I tried to copy my post to the Windows clipboard before trying to preview it to save retyping it, if it crashed, I'd lose the data in my clipboard! This happened with about a quarter chance, and needless to say, I got fed up retyping things all of the time (I wasn't about to resort to always having Notepad open to save things), I got fed up with it, and switched, and haven't looked back. This was with Internet Explorer 6 many years back, and while I don't use it consistently, I've since had the same thing happen with Internet Explorer 7, though only like once or twice.

I tried it a little IE 8 works good with yahoo mail, actually i only use IE to check my moms mail (and i access my mail with firefox, that way i dont have to enter the pass & ID for either me or her with each mail visit).
So if your planing of using IE8 for yahoo mail i highly recomend it
As for Firefox the latest oficial build seems verry stable to me and i like it more then IE from a secure point of view . Also when firefox crashes, when you reopen it you can access all the sites that you visited, if IE crashes thats it you loose your accessed sites.
