looks pretty much the same. is the game compelling enough to actually warrant a purchase?

If you like the grim atmosphere of doom games, then i guess this might be worth of purchasing. I will, after i get a new graphics card. I went doom3 thru with below average settings in sluggish speed. (even after heavy tweaking. before i had to use lowest settings) Im not going to ruin this one with crappy gameplay. :)

They pointed in an interview that they had the idea for the gravity gun way before it was announced for HL2, now, who to believe ? :p

I found it lame and boring.

1. The intro story was VERY short and VERY boring -_-
2. Same sh!t different, yet similar pile.
3. The 'physics' isnt really real. They put a bunch of throwable crap down and gave you an hl2 rip off to throw them around. Most things you expect to be able to throw such as portable lights for archaeological digging are static, just for looks :(

Very weak.

I didn't really like Doom 3 so I not too warmed up to the release of Doom 3 Resurrection.

The graphics would have been great if I could have see it.

95% of the levels were in dark rooms, making it hard to admire the graphics.

The levels were repetitive - a demon would jump out from the dark corner and you just kill it. And it was just annoying having the demon spawn behind you every step of the way.

The grabber gun in Doom 3 Resurrection looks cool, too bad the designers had to pimp the idea from Half Life 2's gravity gun.

But I need to know:

Do you finally fight and kill Dr. Betruger?

the gravity gun was a idea b4 hl2. also there was a mod for one made for doom3 it self. but if u think about it HL took some of doom idea too like the shotgun, pistol. rocket launcher ;)

also those with Gf4tis i found a way to make it so u can do doom3 and roe on 1024x760. just turn off shadows. that eat ur frames. and there is another tweaker program u can use. i got it to let me do 1024x760 ultra with my gf4ti4200 where it runs smooth and fine. though u gonna need 1GB of ram to do ultra.

Uh...

1. The shotgun, pistol, and rocket launchers(variants) are real weapons in real life FYI.
2. Who cares if it was an idea first. HL2 was the first to use it, and do it well.

I think people should stop *****ing about who got what first. Just say that the gravity gun manipulator thing was better implemented into HL2. Now I'll be playing Doom 3: ROE this weekend at midnight like with the original Doom 3, trying not to **** in my pants :p

Game is the same amoutn of demanding but its an expansion... just that. It pretty much takes the same specs, has the same feel, just develops the story and imporves multiplayer. BTW I passed it and the ending was a bit of a letdown for me.

Ye gods she's saggy. I get the impression she is intentionaly fugly. Must be a poke at Valve for Alyx trying to sell the game on her hotness or something.
