I saw that to obtain v2.6a you must donate $2.50 and I heard that there was a problem with donating. i followed the link on the front page and then to paypal and it just says "This user cannot except money" or something like that. So how do I donate to get version 2.6a?

Unfortunately version 2.6a is just ethically unavailable at this time cuz donations are down as you noticed and have been so for a very very long time.
