How come the bad things about the US rarely reach Japan? Forums like www.japantoday.com sounds very much like fox news sometimes. I am suprised that Japan is more afraid of communism than the US. You get labeled bad names if you criticise the American government too much. It seems really strange that many Japanese defend America as hard as American patriots do.
I do remember that there was a time when the US government has some control on Japan's government and remodeled many things to the US way. Their economy is also heavily dependent on the US though.
I just find it strange that people with no experience with Americans would be so actively pro-American. I am not suggesting that Japan should bash America, it is just that somethings seem a little overblown don't you think?
An example would be like.
Its like going to France and everyone wants to be English or going to England and everyone wants to be French. Another phrase would be: out of character. Maybe not as bad as this example but you get the idea.
