Weird, with Pete's Soft driver, the speed of the game is very good, of 50 FPS to 55 FPS. Why? supposedly in 3d it should be more quick ( D3D and OPENGL)

hi, im new to usin epsxe, and i tried to play PE2 on it, but it just seems to freezes after the first screen where it says square.
my spec is 600mhz athlon, 32meg geforce ddr, 128meg sdram
ran the image of the cd too on win XP and winME.
the graphic settings im using r default fast settin and tried nice settin too.
sound - internal, bios 7502
thanx for any help.
PS. the cd is fine, works on bleem and vgs.
