I am playing Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus and I turned on Progressive Scan with my Interlacing at Weave bff.

However, I noticed that the graphics do not get sharper.

The game itself probably has to support progressive scan, not just the fact that you enable it in the emulator.

Wait, if you turned on progressive scan mode, what are you using Interlacing for? That's like crossing a bridge by boat.

PCXL-Fan: PCSX2 is not Dolphin, there's no such thing as enabling it in the emulator configs.

So which is better? Interlacing at Weave bff or Progressive Scan?

Well for Tekken 5, using the ingame options to turn on progressive scan was much better than leaving it on default and using gsdx/zerogs interlacing. That said, you could always try out all combinations and see for yourself if has the desired output you'd like.

One last question. On the top of the emulation screen (where it says the FPS, and resolution) I see the word interlaced and after it the word frame in parenthesis.

Sometimes it says frame and sometimes it says field.

What does frame and field mean?

Interlaced video is displayed on a per field basis. The even and odd fields are stitched together (weaved) to create a frame.

What masta.g.86 said. In short, you always set interlacing to none on your first run. If you see your screen wobbling up and down, only then do you try out the various interlacing options.

Still not sure why GSDX doesn't support Pixel adaptive and median de-interlacing.
