Disgaea and sound

I tried the change of the sound plugins (null and p.e.op.s 1.2) ingame with save/load state like it was posted in a thread that you will find when you search for "disgaea" and "sound".

But it doesn't help. After load state with p.e.op.s 1.2 sound driver the game runs without probs at 25 fps but without sound.
With the null driver I got 30fps so I guess the plugin works but does no output.

Can anybody help me?

pcsx2 0.8.1 sse2
gsdx9 0.8
Win xp
amd 64 3200+
x800xt
audigy 2 ZS
and the newest drivers

you are treading a fine line with the game compatability rules, this is technically a compatability problem.

1. This will be fixed or useable in 0.9
2. It wont work in 0.8.1 due to bugs with the sound side of PCSX2

so just wait ;)
And anyway the null part means it returns nothing so there wo'nt be sound for it.

What I meant was that there is a way to start the game with p.e.op.s sound plugin without getting an error. First saving a state with null plugin and then loading this state with p.e.op.s sound plugin.

There was someone who was able to hear sound or some sort of sound with this method.

I will have to wait till the next realease. Can't wait.
The savestate method worked when I tried it, and I did get sound. Disorted sound often at the wrong pitch, but Disgaea definetaly had sound. Either way, it was unenjoyable (mainly because my slow computer though).

yes i think the pitch is peops's fault, a few games play it about 1 note too low
The only game that I had work with good sound would've been Super Robot Taisen Alpha 3, Nippon Ichi games on the other hand give me background noise(being background music that isn't playing very well or a read channel error during voices) if I get the sound to work and if it doesn't like certain things it will make a *POP*sound then the emulator will crash. So Disgaea is floating in that boat.
