Is it possible to disable video layers in epsxe or maybe get a plugin that allows it? Such as how in SNES emulators you can disable each layer (sprites/different background layers/whatever)?

It would help much with my task of ripping sprites (which would be near impossible without the ability to disable layers).

Thanks.

the PSX doesn't use layes in the same way that the SNES does, so no.
Sprites on the PSX are textures affixed to a polygon which is parrallel with the view.
2d backgrounds are the same IIRC.

Ripping sprites is not too hard without that trick, just disable all filtering, snapshot it
and select the sprite with a adequate selection mode in your prefered 2D software.

Well, I more need to rip sprite animations... And if I were to kill everyone in my party and be able to attack without being close to a monster... It'd be simple. But since theres always characters and monsters overlapping, it makes it a lot harder to use things that screenshot the screen everytime something changes... x_x

Oh well, I'll live. ^^
