I found out my internet problem is with the firewall...I think...so I turned off the firewall on windows but I heard there was a way to turn off the firewall on the router itself...is this possible? Is so can any one help me?

To access your router, try typing in your IP address into a browser. If it doesn't work then check your manual; there might be a certain IP address you have to punch in (like my cable modem). If the router lets you configure the settings on it, it should take you to a Web page interface. Hopefully the setting is buried somewhere in there.

Why would you want to run with no firewall at all? If you're on windows, that's just... insane. Nowadays you'll get infected with something in minutes (if not seconds). Even if you're up to date on all your vulnerabilities from windowsupdate, new ones come up all the time. Don't lower your defenses...
