Hey :)

I have already looked high and low through the forums as well as google and the only place I found someone with the same problem was on a random German forum and my German is not too good, ya.

Just after the scene on the train when the party get gassed and wake up as different people, there is a fight. Once you have an up close image of the monsters the game freezes with this error message:

opcode 17 UNK (PC 000159a8)

I have tried loads of emulators, plugins and settings to get over this problem, so there's not much point showing my settings. I am however using an Nvidia card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks :)

It would help if you listed your computer specs[CPU, RAM amount, exact NVidia card, etc.], as well as if you've been using save states, and your emulator configuration. You aren't giving us a lot to go on aside from the error. It could be related to a number of things, I'd wager.

My specs

I am running Windows XP SP3
Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 @ 2.40 GHz
3.25 GB Ram
NVidia GeForce 8600 GT

I have tried ePSXe 1.7.0 & 1.5.2

I have tried every config suggested in different threads to do with FF8, in fact I don't know what config I began with or what to use for other games.

I have tried gpuPeteOpenGL2.6 & 2.9, gpuPeteOpenGL, gpuPeteD3D & gpuPeteDX6D3D plugins in both versions of ePSXe.

I have tried with F1 save states as well as memory card.

I have also tried shouting at my monitor and squeezing my joypad.

at the moment I have

are you playing from the actual game disc or off an image of it? if you are playing off an image then try making another one, it could just be a bad rip.
