I was pissed to find the DS Lite is region locked out! I had wanted to buy Great Giana Sisters for it and now it may not come out for the US and I may not be able to play it! That sucks.

the DSi is region locked but only for DSi games (which aren't even out yet). the older DS games are not region locked and gba was never region locked

When I still had a DS half of my games were imported. Pretty sure there's nothing region locked on the DSLite either; only the DSi, as others've said.

I think what the guy meant was that DSiWare games would be region-locked, which is true because you can't access DSi Shop from any region other than the one you bought the DSi in.

And as far as I am concerned, future DS games would have extra features that are accessible only on the DSi, but they are still not region-locked if they come in carts.
