Devil May Cry problem; game doesn't run past Capcom screen. [Half solved!]

Alright, first post on these forums; I've used PCSX2 for a time and never really had any problems with it, until I decided to try this supposedly-classic game.

Firstly, I'm using the TLB version due to the normal one not being compatible with Vista. Graphics plugin is GSdx 846 0.1.9.

Now, when I start the game I get a strangely shaky screen telling me my memory card isn't formated, then "Capcom" and then black emptiness. I've tried playing around with settings but I just can't get it past this.

I guess relevant data about my system is I have a Core 2 Duo, 4 gb of DDR2, a Radeon 4850 and such.

Any ideas? Any magic configuration settings? Some mystical patch to use?

Try the pcsx2 playground version too.
Progress! The game runs on Playground with a decently solid 60 fps, but the sound is laggy and stutters horribly, this being on ZeroSPU 0.4.6, with the same results on Gigaherz SPU2 Driver 0.13

Any further ideas/suggestions?
