A new official version of desmume is out:

DeSmuME 0.9.4 released!

This new release introduces lots of bug corrections, improvements and new features: among them are new save autodetection, new save file format and full rerecording support.

For those wondering about the missing 0.9.3 version, we somehow lost it ; it got captured by hunters that thought it was a new p*kem*n.
Adding the changelog, for those interested on the details:

0.9.2 -> 0.9.4 (r1844->r2352->r2437)

0.9.3 was skipped due to emu news sites sneaking it out of our staging area and
releasing it prematurely while it still had bugs. I was going to curse them
individually, but then I decided that they would just like the publicity.

thank you so much!
even though there are many compiled svn version of desmume floating around the web I still found official release to be faster, and finally ar support! :D
With the official version you won't get dangerous stuff (like additional virus, or new features like deleting your HD), which SVN builds from some stranger can't guarantee. Not to mention that usually help support is not given for SVN builds.

Great emu so far. I wonder why they don't give an option for selecting a save path. If every emulator did that we'd have 3 or 4 different save files for each game. Would be nice if it either created a save folder inside the emu folder (like most emus), or just give an option to use our own custom save folder somewhere.

Things I'm looking forward with desmume: (of course after even more compatibility and speed)
-Saves (not states) in their own folder
-FullScreen support (I guess it would need filters)
-Command Line support for direct game booting. (Don't know if it has it already)

All in all, a very awesome job with this version so far, and if you want a DS emu and have not given this one a shot, please do so. It has improved so much and I can say it is about to become my favorite DS emu. (It would be if it werent for those addons of that other emu)

Another little step for the developers but an big step on the way to outrun NO$GBA!

And of course an good looking list of ereased bugs.:thumb:

Okay lets see what it does now

Edit: That thing really rocks, but I also need more Cpu Power for it.... at least it plays nice music and has no Graphical bugs as I can see with my games. (just tested a few till now)

The Emulator works realy well, I have just tested mario and i must say im quite impressed!

The sound is just wright in no making chakling noses like no$gba dose, But the emu could require just a bit more speed in sound and graphic display, Then it would out beat no$gba!

Well done, keep it up gays!

because the old one is obsolete... how do we know why, ask the developer why
what the hell you talking about... .sav is obsolete? the team only added some stuff at the end of the file and renamed it .dsv, its still more less the same thing, just very long process converting them, plus some of the developers are members on this site.

its because the new format is not directly nogba and ideas compatible, and they don't want people just using the save in another emulator.

Amazing and good job to DesMume team. Now you can see the background in Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword but unfortunately you still can´t move the character.

Cheers DesMume team :D
