can anyone tell me wich is a good prog fo taking snaps of your desktop freeware or share ware or is there some hidden option in windows like there is is in linux? there should be one but if there is i cant find it in winxp pro any help would be great

Use printscreen.. Then paste it into any picture editor..

eazye: if you're only doing casual shots, use fivefeet8's suggestion. I personally like IrfanView (freeware) for lots of screenshots.

They're not ACTUALLY ecchi, it's just some people might construe them as such. See what I mean in the random desktop below.

I guess it's supposed to have a lot of jaggies....it's a divx screenshot taken from Card Captor Sakura, stretched to fit the screen.

I still often replace it with a Shiori one, though.
