I recently have had to reinstall windows xp on my brothers dell latitude d800.
I can not though for the life of me figure out what drivers I need to connect his laptop to a broadband internet cable modem. So he can actually get on the internet please help!

Well, chances are you'll wanna use the ethernet adapter. Other options include wireless or USB usually.

I'd check the DELL Support website, select "Download Drivers", find your laptop model and look for LAN/Ethernet adapter.

If you're still having trouble, the program you really wanna get is Everest. It's a big help when it comes to finding the drivers you need.
