Does anyone know how to make CTR work? After I push the start button (following the intro), it just freezes!

try using petes midas thats the only spu that i know to pass that part

Eternal spu, if your system has the power to handle the slow plugin. Andy's spu is great in a lot of games I play (Square's games), but not the best overall. Iori's spu is also pretty good. Pete's spu still chugs along, but there aren't too many games I'd use it in now (sorry, Pete).

its been a long time since i played ctr so i dont test this game for another new spu

it don't work with me!!!!!!! :cry:

i use Pete OpenGL 1.54, Eternal SPU, and ePSXe internal CD plugin.
My configuration is:

Duron 800, GeForce 2 Mx 32Mb, 128 Mb RAM.

I managed to get through the sound problem during the introduction but when the word LOADING appears just before the race, ePSXe crashes with a bad opcode 27 message.

i think CTR don't work with NVidia cards.

sorry dude, but i've already tried with Pete Midas SPU plugin and i still have the same problem. I'm using Pete OpenGL 1.54, and internal ePSXe CD plugin, maybe are u using another 1.

Or is it a country version problem. I have a PAL CD.

Anyway here are my settings with the OpenGL plugin.

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.54

Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
GFX card: GeForce2 MX/AGP/3DNOW!

Resolution/Color:

Should you somehow happen to come across the NTSC version ;) make sure SPU IRQ is enabled. It took my a while till I figured this was the reason CTR wouldn't continue after the splash screen.

i have been playing CTR for quite a while now(nice hotseat multiplayer game) in ePSXe, try enabling accurate cdr timing may also help. also eternal spu seems to be the most compatible plugin for me(not only in this game but to many others)
