Do they send you a physical copy of the game after it's released? Or you have to stick with the Steam DLed one? I'd like to go with silver or gold, but I want it on a DVD :p

Yeah also thought that burning it to a DVDR could be fine, but who doesn't like to have
the original manual, bow and DVD when the money is spent?

Steam isn't a bad idea, but it could be fine if they pressed the DVD for steam purchasers,
or if it was a compressed DVD/CD ISO

That's because HL2 detects the cards capabilities, have you noticed how low-res the textures are on DX7 cards?

CZ isn't even worth 1$, its only use was to open the gate to the CSS beta, but now
it's released to HL2 future owners

It's off by default unless it detects very good hardware specs

cl_smooth isn't a graphic option :p
IIRC it has something to do with movments

on HL1 it was m_filter 1 for mouse smoothing... I don't think they changed it

It's useless on optical mice and/or when widnows has the PS2 rate set to 100hz or better,
else it aiming is hard...

Same with few slowdowns without FSAA (it's useless in multiplayer games IMHO)
when C4 blows or when too much people is on sight (often on 10 vs 10 games)
Of course I have a crappy CPU that doesn't help

20-25 is decent framerate when we consider the good graphics...
but at very rare instances it drops to 5-10 when lots of ppl are fighting in the same room,
C4 explodes, grenades blows some stuff with additionnal effects (sprite overflow :p),
and so on... broken glasses don't help either, it's one of the most important slowdown
cause :(

Higher than 100 makes your grenade bounce on the wrong all, and come back in your face... doh'

The annoying thing is that Source needs aan higher upload speed than most games...
CS1.6 needs only a0 80k upload speed, CSS needs at least 128k ... so I must close emule beforep laying CSS :(
