Could ePSXe help with broken disk? (FF9)

I'm new to these forums...but a while ago I bought FF9 used (note the word used) from Gamestop or someplace...turns out the 3rd disk was corrupted and it wouldn't load. If I burned it to the computer...would it help fix it? I'm reading up on all this stuff with PSX and its very confusing so I want to know if this will even help me or not.

just clean it up. get the disc doctor or somethign similar and buff it out.

they should do it for you though...at my local gamestop they clean the discs first. all my discs i got from there are shiny smooth :)

hushypushy, do you know what disc repair product they used? I need to get myself one, but all the ones I've looked at got *very* mixed reviews.
im not 100% sure, i never asked. Disc Doctor (i think that's it...the black and green one) is a cool one though, it's worked well for a friend of mine.

Download the free .mds maker "Alcohol 120%," set it to ignore errors and to do advanced sector scanning.
uh, alcohol 120% isnt free. the demo is though. http://www.alcohol-soft.com/
