54%? I know it's high but I wouldn't say it's that high.

I'm guessing none of the numbers are accurate considering the fanboy votes.

lol BigIg.

I don't get it. How can the largest company (if not largest, then most famous) in the entire tech biz cannot produce a console that won't break down after a couple hours of usage. I've have 8 systems in total. Some of which still work to this very day. But the 360 breaks down just by looking at it. The Original Xbox was built like a battle-tank. If I were to throw it out my window it'll still be fine. it was the Superman of gaming systems. Now we fast-forward to mid-2009 and the Xbox 360 which was said to be "the most advanced gaming system around" scratches your discs, overheats (maybe explodes), and red-rings you (Which is the equivalent of getting Falcon Punched by your grandma while she rams your new Toyota into a brick wall.). Also, what still confuses me is the fact that people that have had these problems with their 360 still buy another one and eventually have that same problem again. Don't they get it. MSoft is just raping your wallet into oblivion while you still play a shoddy system. If the 360 transformed into a nuclear missile and wiped out your entire city and you survived, would you buy another one. I ,in fact, happen to own this trash and rarely plays it. Why? Because I'm scared that my Xbox is going to RROD me. I also have a Wii. And boy do I play that a lot. And it hasn't failed me since. MSoft has lost so much money with the Xbox. My friends at school have told me that RROD percentage rate has gone down. My friends also laugh at me for liking Nintendo. Yet I laugh back at them because while I'm using a free online service. I like all of the consoles. It just saddens me that an NES purchased at launch still works instead of a console that's only been around for 4 years. Microsoft, you fail for this
Hilarious.

Well my 360 broke twice (RROD and power supply) and my PS3 broke once (optical device failure). I found Microsoft to be very fair with the free repair and shipping but with the PS3 they were more surreptitious with trying to get me to pay extra for shipping.

/puts on conspiracy cap

The M$ policy on fixing 360s is very fair, but because I believe they were expecting this number of broken consoles.

But seriously. Out of all my gamer friends, only 360s have broken down on them so far. It really is amazing, after all the years the 360 has been out, RROD is being reported almost daily. Loved my original Xbox...it really was built like a tank

By that logic there should be MORE strikes against the PS3. There's far more xbots out there than ps3 fans.

Not really true. The fanboys on both sides seem pretty equal to me.

You sound like a fanboy to me though, using the term Xbots for Xbox fans while PS3 fans are just called PS3 fans.

You ****ing noob, everyone knows the SNES is where it's at.

Sony and Nintendo are Japanese. Coincidence?
Another oddity is that American companies were some of the original pioneers of home consoles (Atari 2600 anyone?), yet they were completely out of the game for awhile until the Xbox came out.

Another figure a lot of people overlook is the sheer number of Xbox360's to the ps3. The ps3 was like 400$ in my area maybe 2 or 3 people have it, but most people have the 360. I personally dont like the ps3, just dosnt strike my fancy (specially no backward compat) But the 360 is decent, i like the controller better. But over here for every one person with a ps3 theres 20 360's out in the wild.

Ummm, I don't know about that.

The RROD has been around for awhile, when 360 numbers weren't as high as they are now.

54% is a ratio Bubbafat. Even with a smaller number, that number probably wouldn't change too drastically.

Yes, but usually the more that's put out, the lower the percentage of failed/faulty ones become, not increase or stay steady.

If it does, it's just a badly made product. If those numbers don't go down, M$ is obviously doing something wrong and aren't willing to fix it properly and instead set up a patch fix like the free fix if you RROD.
