I've noticed that an older version of Cxbx will detect a 5659 app and an a new version of Cxbx will detect it as a 5558 and start diong it's "magic". Does that mean that there are simmilarities between 5558 and 5659? Fight Night 2004 is a good example.

hmm, there are. Each new XDK version contains in most cases more than 70% of the old one. In some cases the difference is only 2/3% because the developpers did only important patches (e.g. because of security reasons). New versions include also new features and if so sometimes all the old stuff remains the same. So using signatures of older XDKs is possible in some cases.
