Specs:
AMD Athlon x2 5000+
2gbs of RAM (ddr2)
XFX Nvidia 250gts 512mb ddr3
Windows XP 32bit SP3

Whenever I try and emulate games I can never get the speed above 20fps. That seems a little low for my configuration. I was wondering if someone could help me out.

Games I have tried:
Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1

PS: The first time I ran Dolphin, it gave me some error about being unable to allocate memory or something due to an antivirus, but since then I have disabled everything extra running and I have yet to receive that error once again... could that be the problem?

Many thanks, Soul.

When settings AA or AF to anything besides 1, my fps is still the same. It will never go above 20, except in menus.

On another note, my 8600gt that I replaced with my gts 250 used to emulate the same games with higher fps with 4xAF on... so something must be wrong here :O

For the anti-virus thing, I'm assuming you're running Kapersky - this is a known issue.

OK, first off that CPU just ain't gonna cut it. If you're looking to upgrade, a Phenom II should be a drop-in replacement. And since dolphin doesn't support more than 2 cores, a fast tri-core will be cheaper than an equivelent quad-core - that is unless you wish to future-proof your system more.

As for the GPU thing, it's highly unlikely that with your current CPU bottle-neck that the GPU would really make an effective difference.

So basically, use a better CPU, then we'll talk.

Of course it'll help, but it may or may not be enough depending on the game. If you know what you're doing, give it a whirl!
