Is K-Lite Mega Codec Pack the best way to get all of the codecs I would ever need?

I suggest using ffdshow instead. You can find it on sourceforge.net

If that's the case, then I don't know what use any of the other things in that pack would be. ffdshow can play divx, xvid, mpeg4, ogm, etc, -- everything I throw at it. I've never had a problem.

Other more "common" (?) codec not included in ffdshow is indeo and ogg... but I don't use them anyway

I believe the Indeo codec comes with Windows anyways.

I have no idea, all I know is that when I use it (which is almost never), it works .

I think indeo codec come with intel driver. It's not on my current comp oO (my PIII computer had it)

AFAIK last time (before K-lite codek pack ) I noticed I'm installing indeo video codec was when I bought Resident Evil 2 PC
