I am interested in building an arcade coffee table. I thought about building an arcade cabinet, but I'd like it to be more functional than that. And I'm too lazy to stand up while playing.

I'm currently looking about for old computers to buy, but I'd really also like to know the cost of building a new machine.

If you could help me, could you please help me estimate how recent a generation of consoles (and arcade games) it could emulate while still at a playable speed?

Option 1 (~230$)
-E6300 which can be overclocked on air up to 3.5-4 Ghz easily going into the stock E8xxx specs.
-2 gigs of 800 Mhz DDr2
-ATI 4650

Sixth generation?

Option 2 (~200$)
-E5200 overclocked up to 3.5-4 Ghz (Should be very close to overclocked E6xxx)
-2 gigs of 800 Mhz DDr2
Geforce 8400GS

Possibly Sixth generation?

Option 3 (~170$)
-E5200 overclocked up to 3.5-4 Ghz (Should be very close to overclocked E6xxx)
-2 gigs of 800 Mhz DDR2
-Intel GMA 3100

Fifth generation? Maybe?

Option 4 (~110-140$)
1.6 Ghz Atom
2 gig ddr2 533
Intel GMA 950

Fourth Generation?

Option 5 (FREE!!!)
PIII... 600 Mhz?
768 MB of ancient RAM
Geforce 1 (ORIGINAL!)

Fourth Generation?

Thanks for the help.
