Try putting it on 60, which should be the right FPS limit for NTSC games.

Another suggestion: Try Pete's OGL2 plugin with high x and y resolution.

Don't use the "Better FPS calculation" in the Game Fixes panel, it causes all the games
to run at full speed with half the framerate (so 25fps PAL, 30fps NTSC)

CC needs 60 fps

It's not too fast, it's just the normal speed :p
Or maybe you've installed a speedhack to make windows faster, that in fact it makes everything faster

Have you tried to use Pete's soft plugin? If it works right, it is probably a graphics card/driver issue. If not, try making a new image of the disc... (that last one is a stretch, I am running out of ideas honestly.) Also I dunno what exactly the -noauto switch does but it is often used w/ CC, so it is worth a try...

WEEEEE I tryed 1.5.2 and it works allmost perfect. It plays at perfect speed. The battles have a little slowdown but im sure i can work that out. Not that i mind using the older Version but why only me have this problem with 1.6.0? Aslo i know it a stikey but is EpseE dead or sleeping?

Ok...oddly enough, I think we might wanna look away from the GPU plugin. Try limiting your disc read speed to 4x in your CDR plugin and try out some different sound plugins. PEOPS and Eternal are both decent plugins, and the ePSXe internal sound is very compatible with many games. A redump of the BIOS might also be in order, but I doubt a BIOS problem would only affect one game. Do you own any NTSC games besides Chrono Cross? Is the Force PAL option turned on in the emulator? Did you try using the Force NTSC option? Perhaps you should try another emulator such as SSSPSX, PSXEven, or the 1.5.2 version of ePSXe and see if you have the same problem. One of the two versions doesn't like CC very much, but I forget which. I also cannot seem to duplicate your problem on my PC with either version.

EDIT: Above post was made as I was writing this. I'm glad it worked out for you man. Running 1.6.0 with the -noauto switch i think is the fix for the new version. The 1.6.0 version fixed many games, and broke others, so just bear with having both till they find a way to address the compatability issues. I am sure the ePSXe team would not abandon the project without telling the thousands of users about it first. As long as we love the program, it will likely never die...programmers have a soft spot for ppl actually using their stuff and giving feedback.

A little late on the draw bluekirby? Ty tho for the reply. I got it to work with 1.5.2 and im optmaizing it now. If we could figure out why 160 is giving such a hard time. And i only own NTSC games. And Is epsxe dead? is ssspsx gonna be the big showing? Being the update alot?

I think ePSXe has reached a stage where there isn't anything small to fix anymore, which would mean any further improvements would involve massive rewriting of code, rather than small tweaks, bug fixes, and individual compatibility issues. As a programmer, I understand how long it can take to improve an "almost perfect" program, so just give them some time and wait for them to tell us if they are quitting the project. As far as other emulators, I encourage you to try out your options. I may only be giving help on the ePSXe forums, but I use other emulators some as well. They all have their quirks, and their strengths. I am just most comfortable with the workings of ePSXe, so I choose to use it first, before I try others.

See i like ePSXe by far the best, And i know what you mean, PSX emulation is almost perfect. Seems like in the next major build it should be a perfect emulater. I have a few quaks with it now, but its by far the best for me :) plus i love the ePSXeCutor frontend. Only real problem i have still is no vibartion. :)
