Chrono Cross Perfect ePSXe 1.5.2 config! Give it a try!

Here are some examples/pictures of my configuration with ePSXe 1.6.0 (made with savestates), they are each about 400kb, 1024x768 Windowed (24') and you wont get it any better than this =)

Try to download the pics and compare with each other.
You cant miss the difference!

And here one pic of this "black line-cartoon" glitch i talked about, its the same on DX7 or OGL2 if you use 2xSal:

As you can see, DX7 looks much better than OGL2 and Stretched looks better than 2xSal, plus that OGL2 takes a MUCH (min. 30sec., DX7 10sec. or less) longer time to load the game and its a little laggy ingame. i mean dx7 looks better, its loading faster and has no laging. why should i use ogl2, huh?

Yes, OGL2 is newer than DX7, but even if it is newer, Chrono Cross wont look better! Sometimes the old stuff rulezz! :p

oh and sry for my quick thread, next time i test a little more and post later :p and yes this would be my real CC config im playing right now, i recommend ePSXe 1.6.0 now...

um...is it me or could they have just posted configs and made it easier for all of us?
Yeah. I was excited for a second, but this is ridiculously complex (and vaguely suspect), so the game can gather dust for a bit longer.
Note that you are relying on a ePSXe Frontend config.
It may not be compatible with all systems.
its the complete ePSXe 1.5.2 + Executor + Plugins + RegFiles (~5MB) i hope it works 4 you... I repacked everything into one folder you need to apply the *.reg Files to register everything inside the Registry or it will not be preconfigurated...
It really worked prefectly for me (after hours of changing the settings)
With D3D its looks and work better/stable than the OGL or OGL2 Plugins...

You should have equal or better systems!
Ex: It should work on "fireblaster_lyz's" system, i have a Sempron (2200+) too, only 256DDR-Ram and a ATi 9600 Pro 256MB, his system is equal and a little better...

tonight i will fix some stuff with Chrono Cross, i found new "bugs". some pixel got transparent, sound lag on screen change and other bugs like the battle/menu text (looks a little weird) or some 2D Textures are too pixlized...

already fixed all this stuff, but i need to test some more =)

You should put together a guide on how to fix specific problems. I do not feel like downloading suspicious files and neither do a lot of other people.
the files are not suspicious -.- you can download them ALL on ngemu, like me...
but okay, later i will write a little guide for Chrono Cross in combination with ePSXe1.5.2 ... =)
good god that is confusing. i glanced over this thread in its ORIGINAL state and it was supremely confusing (but i still understood it somehow) and yet i left it alone, only to come back to see this. goodness gracious, please either:

A. paste to clipboard your settings
B. screenshot

or a combination of both. the way you have it makes it to ugly and too difficult to read.
I forgot to update that.
I upgraded my computer recently.
messiahgov, I have a system similar to yours and I get slowdowns (outside of battle though) occasionally. It seems to occur a lot with certain effects like fire and glittering. Do you know anything about that?
ew, that is UGLY.

ew, that is UGLY.
yup, ill go back to my settings
hahaha...use OGL2 instead.

EDIT: Besides, take a good look at this post.
LOL Guyver2K5, you used 2xSal, its normal that it will look like this
Take "Strechted" will look much better!
On 2xSal all Text will look UGLY with CC...

I must digress that OpenGl2 looks much better than DX7 ever possibly can. If you happen to have a Nvidia card, u can utilize an internal x resolution of 2. this beautifies the game quite a bit with the extra resolution. couple this with streched filtering and u can not make it look much better. i also recently discovered the absolute neccesity of having the odd/even bit hack turned on. my game kept freezing everytime i attempted to look up my party's status. as soon as i enabled the game worked just fine. also, i personally enjoy keep the psx aspect ratio on, although this is a matter of personal taste.

what setting should I use with OGL2 2.8?
I cant seem to get rid of little slowdowns.

DX7 seems to best for everything other than battles.
If only I could use 2 plugins at once?
man, this thread is alive again? crap.

try maxing out the compatibility section, as far as "those little slowdowns" are concerned
