well i have done about 32 of the 35 opcodes for the chip 8 emulator, but i dont have much knowledge in using graphic API's such as DirectX or Opengl. I have looked been reading through the forums here and looking at articles and think it is best to use SDL and Opengl, but i dont know how to use it, can anyone please point me to a good tutorial as to how to use this program in terms of emulation if possible.

sorry about being such a epic pain, but i decided it would be best to go with directx instead, because am i have to run this program at my university and i can only use software installed there.I have initialized it and got a basic screen up and running, but dont have a clue what to do from there on (i have done all the opcodes).

You used read the DirectDraw/Direct3D SDK docs for blitting.

As for OpenGL blitting, I might have some code lying around for that. Or you can look at byuu's "ruby" library for BSNES.

dont worry man, i got to grips with SDL and Opengl, and got something running now, but thanks for the help anyway :)
