Charachter display problems in firefox under Linux

See attached image. In Windows those would display properly, and I'll make a screenie for that in a sec. How do I get those to display correctly in Gentoo linux?

That's either Elly or Phoinex. They use kanji characters for their names on these boards. You'll need to install japanese language support.
