So I installed Windows 7 7057 today, and I can't use my CDVD drive when in normal mode. In safe mode, or an Administrative command prompt, I can view the contents of the disk just fine. Any clues as to what could be causing it? This is a fresh install with just Firefox and sound/gfx drivers installed. I can't change permissions or anything on the drive, btw. :/
Edit: Seems like it's a bug in UAC. Clearly, they still have some work to do. Oh well. I turned it off, and I can view my CD contents now, even though it has that annoying lock icon by it.
