Try these settings. I have an older version, but there's probably no difference in settings. Just select your CD drive, name your file with .iso or .bin(and choose a path for it with the "..." button), then click start. BTW when reading a PSX CD there should be a Green circle in the grey area in stead of the Yellow circle that's in my pic.

Given that you're not well versed in using such programs (not that I'm putting you down, just making an assumption), you'd probably want to check out Nero : Burning Rom (www.ahead.de), as it has a fairly user friendly interface.

After downloading it, install the program, reboot your computer and start Nero. It'll present you with a dialog box listing the types of CDs you can create. Leave it at the default for now ( Data(ISO) ). Go through the other tabs, making changes as you see fit (you can give your CD a title that displays in explorer, adjust the speed at which the CD will be burnt, that sort of thing).

Once you're done, click on "New." It'll give you a blank window aside which there'll be a tree view of your files. Drag all of the files you'd like to burn over to the left. After you add the files you'd like to burn, click on the eighth button from the left (it's a little CD with a red marker beside it). With a blank CD in your CDR drive, click "Write" and you're done.

There's more information in its online help file, but if you encounter any problems that it can't help you with, feel free to post here.

nero's the best man. Now they include nero express, you want to make vcd/audio/data? you can do it in 2-4 easy steps. I'm telling you it's idiot proof.

Sorry if i'm not clear on that one, you said you want to learn to burn files for general purpose. Well you have install nero right?

If so there will be nero express in the ahead nero folder. It's wizard base so it's easy to burn lots of things. And their help files explain alot if you want to learn the many option that it has.

About the program, I'm not aware that there's a better program than nero or cdrwin. I have burn cd's for 3 years and believe me, better stick with nero for burning files.

Consider yourselfs lucky then, because i have nero 5, cant upgrade anyfurther without paying 30-40 $ extra. or save tracks of a Cd. the MP3 Codeing engine is like 30$ i believe. if i where you i would try Easy CD creator
by adaptec and see how that goes. but i guse that would be your opinion anyway
