Anyway, that's the way the CDRom works, changing the plugin won't do anything (except if you use Pete's plugin and use the speed limiting feature it has). For WinXP Pro? Hmmm. I would recomend the internal one or Pete's.

Try disabling CDDA. According to Pete, due to some problems in ePSXe CDDA will only work properly with the internal Plugin in a Win2000/WinXP environment.
