http://www2.ati.com/drivers/Catalyst_49_release_notes.html

claims to have a 15% increase in Doom 3...too bad I already finished it :/

There are 2 different versions avaliable now.....the drivers that only have the old Control Panel, and the drivers that use the new Catalyst Control Center...

16 more mb's from a frickin' control panel. I'll pass. I don't even have time for games lately, but I'll probably upgrade later on ... Anyone wanna test em?

Oh and thanks for the new Kirby.

Ya I'm liking the Omega 4.8's right now too. The only game I really play is CS so these help me a lot :).

I'll wait for the reply's on the Omega 4.9's before I upgrade.

Since I have 220 gigs to spare, I can afford the new control panel. I'll give the drivers a test spin later today I guess. :p Performance increases are always nice...

I heard these drivers fix the problem, which appeared with 4.8 and 4.9beta, in Doom3 where card fails to do texture trilinear filtering correctly, and causing big image loss on distance. I'll definetly try.

People on Rage3D are having mixed results, specially related to CCC. When correctly working, most people report performance and smoothness improvements. Problem is, that half people is having problems with CCC not starting at all :/ . I thnik i'll try these, and tell you something tomorrow.

Not exactly, users are reporting peak ram usage at 60MB when loading, and then it goes down to about 6-12MB, wich is not that much. The filesize is big, yes, but mainly because it still includes the old control panel for r200 and below cards. You can download drivers separately weighing 8'40MB, and CCC weighing 19'9.
