well try pete's opengl2 with offscreen drawing at 2, the option below it at 3 and the one below it at 2. (you can probably get away with much lower configs, but i think your computer can handle it and why not?)
and remember to enable "use fps limit" to stop fast speeds

Eternal SPU is good for me... Might want to play with the buffer size, set it to 32 or 64 or whatever, till it works correctly..
I wouldn't suggest peops GPU for anything, personally, and SOTN _DOES_ have some 3d stuff that will look ugly on it, try lowering the filtering in d3d or opengl2 or whatever to 0 and see if it solves that problem. if it doesn't, stop listening to me and use peops

Oh.. sorry.. I don't know much about ATI cards and it seemed like a high number

it should still run opengl (1) anyway, no? directx8.1 doesn't seem _that_ old...
