Capture Device's prob

1. epson stylus rx 510 scanner prob
ok, when i use any imaging apps like photoshop , irfan view ,even the epson scan , it says something wrong about the scanner. but the
epson copy center can trigger the scanner.
firstly i think it's a twain driver problem , uninstall it then reinstall even deleting twain_32 directory but dit not help.

2.capture card problem
when i use it , it crash any application that using it. but when i keep trying to use it for few times the crash is gone. this is also happen to it's fm receiver.

this problem did not apply to my webcam.
i'm using winxp sp1.
