Can't save state on Policenauts

Save states don't seem to be working for me.
I read all the topics with similar problems and nothing has worked.

Im using epsxe 1.7, windows xp, pete's gfx plugins.

I tried deleting the sstates folder and making a new one. I created a new epsxe folder in my desktop and started from scratch. I tried all the gfx plugins and I still don't get anything by pressing F1 or F3. Pressing ESC and selecting to save from the menu doesn't do anything either.

No files are created on the sstates folder. I turned on the 'log' option and it says the saves are being made and loaded, but they really aren't.

I recall saves working for me on previous epsxe versions, but not anymore. Anyone have a clue as to what could be happening?

put zlib1 into the same folder as epsxe
Place the epsxe folder, directly onto C:\

run the attached to clean up the epsxe settings and start epsxe.

There has been reports that DEP can prevent savestates as well so try disabling that.
Its not Off. its still on.

To switch it off, open up c:\boot.ini and change /noexecute=optin to /noexecute=optout, then reboot.

You'll probably have to remove the Read only property on the file as well.
its not a bug, its a random user specific/pc specific configuration error that crops up now and then.

Ok, get the latest VC runtimes, 2005 SP1 or 2008 SP1.
:\

There are some compatibility issues with various games... but that shouldn't prevent states from working at all o_O

They must be executing something in an odd memory space...
hmm... is that after its patched?
