I'm fairly new here, so I don't know how much detail I'm supposed to give...

I can't properly save my game for FF9. When I find a Moogle and try to save, I get a message saying that it was unable to save. Although some data is written to that save slot, when I try to load that slot, it says the file is corrupt.

I don't think I quite understand.

...before I load what? The emulator? The game? The save file?

Could you be a little more specific?

It's not working...

I loaded the game from the CD, selected "Continue", picked a slot, pressed F4, and selected a game. I still get an error message saying that the data is corrupt.

Either this isn't the answer to my problem, or I'm just lousy at following directions.:emb: What does pressing F4 do, anyway?

It enables and disables SIO irq, also known as the magic button that fixes just about any save problem. If the three suggestions don't work, you have some problem that I've never had.
