That's rather broad, could you tell us what particular RPGs you've used that caused it to crash? When it crashes, does it give you an error in the console window? Could you post your plugin info?

There's quite a few programs. The free ISOBuster is pretty good and quite a few people on the board make use of it

Personally, I use CDRWin, which isn't free, though even in its unregistered mode makes ISOs perfectly well

don't get me started about Compaq..... They sold me a compaq presario 7470: amd k6-2 533, onboard sound and graphics card(shared memory shit).... no agp slot..... only 4 pci slots..... Had to buy a voodoo 3 3000 pci but worked ok....... The shitty thing is that when I bought the thing, the manual that came with it said I could upgrade the cpu which is what I wanted(an upgradeable comp)..... to an amd tbird or athlon.... well low and behold, i learned later from Compaqs own reps that I couldn't upgrade the cpu without upgrading the motherboard...... SO I say sure why not...... Then they tell me after I say "sure, a new motherboard is cool", I have to get a whole new computer case!!!!....... wtf..... Compaq sucks...... Well lets just say I went and bought my own parts from somewhere else and by myself put together my own computer....... Tbird 1gig, voodoo 5 5500 agp, 256 megs ram 133....ect...... New case and all..... My case opens from the side not from the back..... so the whole right side panel come right off and I see my whole system inside..... I keep the panel off sometimes to cool it down faster....

You think compaq are bad... try using a packard bell. I saw this one advertised 3 months ago. On closer examination it had:

1: Onboard agp graphics
2: Riser card for expansion slots (no chance of a new mobo then)
3: 2 pci slots on riser card
4: 64 mb ram SOLDERED onto the mobo  (no chance of keeping that for any upgrades)
5: On board sound (ok its a live)

If you ever want to upgrade then the only thing from inside you could take are the cdrom, the HDD or the AMAZINGLY "fast" K6 2 450.

Now here's the really stupid part.

In order to help make it look like a good deal they shove tons of absolutely usless programs onto the HDD. The result is that the 10GB HDD has only 1GB free. You could hardly install Word and a game onto that!

Oh and the price £500. (or $708.095)

Man how I laughed.

I have good things to say abut compaq

I think that compaqs really do suck before their 5BW series. I have the Compaq 5BW112 and am really happy with it.

I only upgraded the RAM to 256MB and added a voodoo2 1000 12MB. I can play just about any consle emulator, and the MB is just a standard baby-AT.

This is why I perfer a totally home built system, which mine is. This way I can put exactally what I want into it and update whenever I want. Those "pre built" systems don't do a darn thing for me.
sincerely,
