I have ePSXe 1.7. Using pete's OpenGl2 Driver 2.9 and Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41. Trying to play Final Fantasy Origins. I have been messing with the settings and can't get it to run correctly. The video stutters sometimes and the sound is screwing up all the time.

The laptop I am using has Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz CPU
3 Gb ddr2 ram
GeForce 8600M GT w/ 256 MB ram
Vista Ultimate 32 bit
17" Widescreen 1920x1200 resolution

What would be a good starting point for me to use for different settings for video and audio?

use Peopsoft GPU plugin, its a 2D game, and doesn't require a 3D plugin.

I give up. This sounds like crap and looks like crap and crashes all the time. I was hoping to be able to play these old playstation disks somewhere besides my ps3 at home but i guess not.

try psx then, its much easier to use than epsxe. im willing to try and help you with epsxe more if you want but if it is too frustrating then just use psx. i dont really recommend epsxe to users who are new to psx emulation anyway, it has a bit of a learning curve to it due to the plugin system and requires a bit of patience to setup and understand how it works.

edit- this is the FAQ for psx if you decide to use it.
