Undoubtedly a fantastic FPS game, with an awesome combination of an epic story-line, fabulous gameplay, and highly realistic graphics which are seldom found in other games. Ubisoft deserves a cookie for this! :D

In my book, this game ranks right up there with CoD4 at the coveted #1 spot for the best FPS game of all time. The graphics in this game are not only spectacular, but also don't require much resources at all. At maximum settings on 1280x1024, my meager E2160 and 9600GT yielded a consistent frame-rate of 50-60 throughout the entire course of the game, occasionally dropping to 45 on intense scenes (though for some reason all the cut-scenes were capped at 33fps for me; but that doesn't really matter much at all.) This game is highly under-rated if you consider how good it is.

Overall rating: 9.8/10 (only cuz I won't give a 10/10 to any game no matter how spectacular it is :p). It's a must-have for anyone who even remotely likes FPS's.

P.S. Completed the game on previous HD2400 Pro and 19" CRT, so the resolution is set to 1152x864, forgot to increase it when making the screenshots, whoops! :emb:

Yeah I found Ray to be the better of the 2 as well. Thomas was really crap at short-range but Ray seemed to be do great at long-range if you hooked him up with a half-decent rifle (he could also use teh Gatling gun! xD)

I had completely skipped the game but it looks like an interesting take on an FPS, I mean a bit of a returning to the times of when you played Cowboys and ****** and kids. The Wild West seems to have done well it it's conversion to FPS.

I highly recommend this game to you Schumi. From what I have seen, you seem to like FPS games with a thrilling storyline, and gameplay which is free from horror, escort/rescue missions, but also incorporate elements which would spice up the so-called mindless aim and shoot style.

This game fits that criteria perfectly. Well there are a few occasions where your innocent brother gets locked up and you have to bust him out, but it isnt a major aspect of gameplay at all.

Yep you've pretty much nailed my taste in FPS with that description, although now and then do I enjoy just a mindless shooter (arena style with somewhere where I can camp and snip everyone, basically like Battlefield 1942 (the other two don't lend themselves well to that style of gameplay well at all)) or something where I can cause mindless havok like the GTA series.

One thing I am a little concerned of though...no map? are the areas that linear? or is it a pull out style map like in Far Cry 2?

lol I think there is a map in the pause menu that you can access (will check), but I never felt the need for it really, the little pointer on the screen was adequate. Sometimes you can have trouble locating a small hut in a clutter of several, but for the most part it's pretty easy finding stuff. The landscape looks really confusing and rugged, but again, finding stuff isn't difficult. But to counter this, there are some chapters where plotting your way through, for example, a messed up web of scaffolding or an underground cavern requires some thinking.

That's how I like it though, IMHO spending more time looking for places/objects/people rather then acting upon them is a waste of time.
