So I'm new to this emulator stuff...

I've been downloading all of these files that it says that I'm missing and I've already downloaded the burutter.dll file and every time I try to play FF7 it says that I'm missing it.

WTF?!?!

Someone please help me because it has been two days or so of very frustrating forum browsing. I just decided why not become a member and actually ask my question.:thumb:

It says,"If you are using a shortcut to start epsxe, make sure the start in location is set in its properties."

This is going to sound very n00bish but what exactly does that mean?!

I saw that the other person you helped instantly understood.

Not me =[

Are you starting epsxe from the main executable, or a shortcut to the executable?

A shortcut.

I'm using vista, if that makes any difference. Also, after it tells me that I'm missing the file that the program has stopped workng and is searching for a solution.

I'm not very tech saavvy. :emb:

right click the shortcut, and look in the Target directory box, if this is blank it makes the emulator look in a virtual store.

Rightclick > Properties
shortcut tab

Target: "links to the exe file"
Start In : "links to the directory the exe file is currently in"

Is the burutter.dll in the same folder as the ePSXe executable?

I have never had trouble running ePSXe from a shortcut. Just go to the folder that your ePSXe executable is in, should have the little icon of the PS1 controller, right click on it and choose create shortcut. Then after that you can move the shortcut to wherever you want.
