I am currently having trouble with my BoF3 game.
I have gotten up to where you have defeated the mutant in the dump area and got Peco and went back to the Plant area.. but whenever I go to rest in the Inn to continue the game it goes to a black screen and the music fades out until it seems like it has crashed. after that if I push a button it starts playing jumpy and messedup sounding music and gives no picture.

here are my specs:
PIII 600mhz
TNT2 32mb
Adaptec CDR
Sound Blaster Live!
800x600 32bit resolution

Video: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.50
Fullscreen mode 800x600 16bit
R8 G8 B8 A8 Texture
Filtering: 0
Caching: 2
FPS Limit: On
FPS Limit: 60
Compatibility: 2
Adv. Buffer: 2
Frame Buffer: 0
Alpha Multipass: On
Color Dithering: On

Sound: Pete's DSound Audio Driver 1.8
ADPCM: Enabled
CDDA: Enable
XA Sound: Enabled
XA Read: Enabled
SPU IRQ: Disabled

CDRom: Pete's CDR ASPI Driver 1.5
CDRom Status: Disabled
Real time cdrom Status: Disabled
Drive: [0:0:0] Sony CD-RW CRX140E V1.0s
Read Mode: BE_2 (ATAPI SPEC 2)
Caching: Async read

Any ideas on BoF3 emu optimization and fixes are encouraged :)

Get Pete's CDR plugin 1.6, and configure it by going to the (Error handling) section and (-check- Try again on reading error. Retry count (1-10): 10 (in white box).
Also (-check- Show message box on reading error)

I hope that helps, it worked for me.
The problem is due to a stall in the CD drive, thus I hope this solution will help you.
