Destructoid - Gearbox: PC version of Borderlands 'destroys' consoles

Wow ... I don't think I've seen a developer be quite so forthright in his willingness to admit that one version of a game is better than another, but Gearbox's Randy Pitchford has laid his cards on the table, stating that the PC version of Borderlands "destroys" console versions, at least with the right hardware.

Not really. PC ports tend to suck. RE4,DMC3, Onimusha 3, Ultimate Spiderman, Beyond Good and Evil etc. etc.

Those are ports that were not ported by the original company, but sold off, they usually end up horrible. Capcom ports however, are turning up quite nicely DMC4 SF4, and soon RE5

Graficks is not something I really care about anymore.

Sure when you upgraded your master System to a Mega drive it was all like "Wow, look at the graphics!" Or when you traded in the N64 to buy a Playstation it was the same, but these days? Sure the jump from PS2 to PS3 was awesome, but all games look really good now, sure the odd one looks better than others and if it looks too bad it's just not acceptable.

But Graphics are old tat - Awesome graphics are a given now, I don't care if it "looks" even better on the PC, as long as i PLAYS well and meets the standard looks wise I'm happy.

Maybe i'm just jealous as my laptop is **** too.

Indeed, the previous capcom games such as RE4, Onimusha 3 and DMC3 were ported by Sourcenext, not by Capcom devs

When GTX 280 hits $100, quad-core CPUs are $100, and motherboards that can hold a quad at over 3GHz gets to $50, I'll consider the possibility that PC > console. Oh wait... I guess I have to consider that possibility now, don't I? lol

i got to say thats just personal preference. I hate playing rts and fps games on a console with a gamepad, but thats just me.

Nicely said. Indeed... RE4 PC > console. With the mods. :lol: Luckily PC games can be modded, consoles don't. Luckily PC runs emulators, so you don't need the console :lol:

My PS2 is gathering dust. I still play PS2 games, but on Pcsx2 with higher resolutions. God of War 2 at 1440x900 looks totally awesome

i know. But there are still games that are ported from the original devs and are still horrible. Saints Row being a big example.

And i think the gameplay is awesome.

It better not be an MMOFPRPG.
