I dunno,
I always get these stupid Blackscreens.
i a very early stage of the game - in the port town Clik there is an Earthquake Scene und afterwards a Video is played.
At least i think so, because when the Video should start, screen turns black and thats it.
No Sound, no Movie, no Nothing.
:-(

Have had a similar prob. with Suikoden.
Here is my configuration:

Pete OpenGL 1.50 (tried others)
Iori Sound 1.4(tried others)
Bios 7502 and 1001
Epsxe 1.40
Playing an ISO - not from CD

Hardware:

Duron 750
256mb Ram
Voodoo3-2000
Win2k

Does nobody have any idea?
Star Ocean 2nd Storywas great so far.

It's the worst thing that can happen - you can play a great game for about 3 hours and then get stuck by this tech. problem.

I WANT TO PLAY ON! DAMMIT!

Or is this question so stupid?
I am no expert with epsxe, but i though i had tried everything...

try to disable mdecs....in this mdec nothing really suprising happens...just a earthquake..so you can skip this one

unfortunately it didn't work....
i don't know why

I couldn't disable the movies in version 1.40, so i unpacked version 1.20 and disabled them there, then I tried (still in version 1.20) to go over the movie sequence.... (or whatever is coming)

it didn't work.

And it's strange - i could see the first earthquake movie without any problems- but the 2nd one (with the survivors on the cliff)
no more....

hmm. I beat suikoden 1 without any problems on epsxe. I had a couple of glitches in suikoden 2 but I'm almost done with this now too.

i hope it works out because i was interested in buying star ocean sometime soon.

petes gpu is vs 1.52 now. you might want to upgrade or just try the soft driver which is what i use.

try epsxecutor to disable the movies....in version 1.4 the programmers did take that option out of the menu

I am currently working on the Star Ocean problem. Even disabling the mdec's doesn't work. I'm trying everything in my power to play through it with the ePSXe, but the sad truth is you may just have to get another emulator and play through it with that one then play it past that point on the ePSXe. If I can find a way past it, I will post it on here. Good luck all.

Did you try pressing F4? Maybe that will work.
