Hmm...try running from an ISO image rather than a BIN or IMG, or use an original CD. My luck with BIN images has been terrible in general, and maybe that is just a problem only I have, but anything is worth a try, right? Use a program like ISO Buster to extract or convert to ISO, and make sure the files show up in it if you try to extract an ISO out of a BIN... otherwise, you have a bad image, probably made by a CDROM that doesn't support RAW mode correctly. Try using ppf patches or subchannel files made in Pete's CDR plugin if you want to play copy-protected games.

ok well update your drivers at www.nvidia.com, try using Sapu's or Xeven's plugins for CD because they autoconfigure. use Eternal 1.41 for sound with default settings. for graphics try Pete's OpenGL2 with the nice preset.

It did the same for me when I used scph-7502

When I switched to scph-1001 it fixed the problem

I know you said you tried many BIOS but the BIOS has to correspond with the game type(NA,PAL,JP)

Sorry if this didn't help, it's just what worked for me.

The BIOS we are referring to is the one used by the emulator, dumped from your console, not the BIOS of your motherboard. There is no way I know of to "upgrade" your PSX BIOS that I am aware of.

Of course I meant my System Bios.

You need a Playstation BIOS file. Do you not understand? You need to dump the bios from your Playstation to your computer, without it, you're out of luck and it will never work.;)

the BIOS doesn't have to correspond to the game, i beat MGS:Integral (NTSC/J) with a US SCPH1001 BIOS.
That's odd. When I tried using a Japanese game with a US BIOS it acted as if there was no disc in the drive. My autoplay picked it up but not the US BIOS. The Japanese BIOS however worked just fine. Perhaps it was some other problem.

Well my US BIOS work on all my other US games. I have no idea what the issue could be. I got the BIOS straight from my friend's Japanese PSX and my own US PSX. I have never tried the PAL BIOS because all my friends who have PAL versions of the PSX live about 5000 miles away.

As far as I know, as long as he gets rid of his friend's BIOS before his friend uses his console again, no harm, no foul. It is the same basic concept as loaning your original game discs to someone... it is legal as long as the same copy of the game is never used by more than one person at the same time. Of course physical presence of the console while using the BIOS would likely cement the legality of the circumstance, just like giving your friend the physical discs of your game to play (assuming you don't have any backups of the game). Forgive me and edit this if I have made a serious error in my understanding of the legality of this particular situation. I am not encouraging having more than one person using the logical console (hardware or dumped BIOS from the hardware being the same entity) at any point in time.

Well I bought it from him so I could play Guitar Freaks. So he never used it after I got his BIOS. I used the PSX for the aforementioned Guitar Freaks, but that's no big.
