black screen

hi all im new..i was playing final fantasy IX whith epsxe 1.6 wen i got to the first vilage i had that video bug so i came and read the faqs and downloaded the 1.7 version used same plugins and bios but wen i try to run a game it stays black..if i run the bios it runs fine and tried final fantasy VII and also works...im using gpuPeteOpenGL2 as video plugin....i read the faq but cant figure out what to do...
