For whatever reason, I've been unable to launch the BIOS files with ePSXe. Every time I try (and with every BIOS file I could muster), I've been unsuccessful and received a black screen (switching between multiple shades of black) and then a program crash with absolutely no error message. I've tried a bunch of different video plug-ins, too, but to no avail. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Any suggestions?

My O/S is Windows XP SP2. My version of ePSXe is the most recent (1.7.0). For hardware specs, according to System Properties:General:Computer:, I have Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz 2.79 GHZ, 512 MB of RAM and my video card is a RADEON X600 256MB HyperMemory.

As of right now, my plugin configuration is as follows:
scph1001 (BIOS)
Pete's D3D Driver 1.75 (I've tried Pete's OpenGL 1.75 and OpenGL2 2.6 with the same black screen result) (Video)
ePSXe SPU core 1.7.0 (Sound)
Pete's CDR ASPI/IOCTL Driver 1.10 (Cdrom)

Although according to the troubleshooting thing, all that should be necessary are the BIOS and the Video plugin.

Update to 1.77 and 2.9 from petes domain and get back to us.

Secondly, you probably don't even have ASPI installed so use the internal IOCTL (Win2K) plugin.

even better, use SapuCDR 1.3

I updated the two GPU plugins and used SepuCDR 1.3 as a Cdrom plugin (which I shouldn't need?) and received similar results and no error message. I'm going to try this setup on a different computer and see if I can get it up and running. If not, then maybe my BIOS files are whack. Anywho, I'll get back to you.
