Yeah I've been looking around and it looks like mine doesn't come with the media player component

Which freaking sucks cause I just kinda wasted $26.99 on something that won't allow me to dump the bios.

Word of warning to those looking to dump their bios with an Action Replay Max Evo avoid version 3.70 (which is the 50,000 code version)

I knew I should have just got a Swap Magic Coder

I didn't know you could use the AR Max to dump a bios. I have a copy and I do recall seeing Evo on the save file but it's not anywhere on the disc label but it does come with media player that I've yet to try.

Dumped a new set of BIOS using the BIOS Dumper, only thing left to do is wait for the new PCSX2 v0.9.4 to be released which I hope will be soon cos' it's been like 5 months since the release of v0.9.3 for Linux users.

I have a really dumb question. If I use this program to get the BIOS of my PS2, I will still be able to use my PS2, right? It's kinda stupid for me to ask, but I don't want to dump the BIOS and have a useless PS2. Help a n00b out.

Of course you will. All the program does is copy the data that's inside your ROMs. It doesn't (and can't, in fact) alter the ROMs in any way.

As for me, I'd love to get this working. I dumped my BIOS with an older BIOS dumper, but for some reason this one won't see my memory stick. uLaunchELF can see it just fine, though...

Here are all things you need, for dumping your BIOS:

If you have a working USB-Stick:
Burn it with a system.cnf on cd or run it from uLaunchELF v4.11
(It works for Slim, I had really problems finding files, which are working with PS2slim...)
Try dumping both formats, maybe you'll need it some day... You'll need just the first package for this,

If you don't have a working USB-Stick:
You can do it also over the FTP-Network, but thats a bit complicated (not for freaks like me ) to get something
like this to work (Networkdrivers of PS2 are still buggy), if you want doing it, you need all packages.
Run PS2Link from your PS2 via CD (you need a system.cnf) or uLaunchELF v4.11 and run xlink from your PC;
and drag&drop the Biosdumper-elf-file, now you have to wait a bit; if it takes to much time, than the network crashed-> restart your PS2 and try again (you can also try to skip files, where the network crashes)

For the PS2 I used following IP-Settings: 10.10.10.98 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.1 # EXTRACNF = mc0:extra.cnf; (IP-Gateway-DNS)
Do it similar with your PC and you don't have to edit the ipconfig.dat

Ok, I have attempted to get the BIOS from my PS2 via FireWire. I read the readme and I don't know how to run ps2dumper.elf on my PS2 through the FireWire. Is there something else I need? The PC I'm connecting to is a Viao, running on XP. Oh, and I have a fat PS2

That's just the thing; I've tried getting the New Format dumper to work. It won't. It just sits there waiting for the USB device to be detected, even if I run it from my softmodded PS2's hard drive or memory card. uLaunchELF can detect the USB stick and access it just fine, so this really puzzles me.

Using the old format dumper was successful and I got all the appropriate ROM/BIN files from that. That won't do for a 2.0 P2B file though; even when the converter is out that will only make them 1.1 compatible.

i tried dumping my PS2's BIOS which is SCPH-90006, using the DUMPBIOS,

(maybe its the same file uploaded here,i got it in other site),

anyway,
the dumper failed to dump and it also made my usb stick corrupted.
my PC can't read my USB stick anymore, thanks to uLaunchElf,
i just copied all my data to another USB stick then i formatted it in PC.

edit the bat so it won't delete the files (put "rem" in front of 2nd and 3rd line)
run it from a cmd window (Start->Run type cmd enter; cd tothedirthathasthebat; run the bat and it should display the progress while packing the files)

Hey I’m trying to dump the bios but getting a message saying “waiting for usb mass device to be ready” it’s stuck on that. Any suggestions? Thanks
