Hi all,

Does anyone have any tips about what sound plugin is the best to use for Final Fantasy 8, as well as what settings it should be at?

So far the ones I have tried either make the wrong sounds (they sound similar to what the game sounds like on the PSX, but are most noticeably different) or produce garbled and/or skipping sound.

Thanks!

Try enabling/disabling spu irq hack, and configuring properly the buffer size thing inside Iori's plugin.
Yeah, an ISO will speed up the game. ISO is a copy of the cd that you make. So, instead of reading the psx cds, it will read the cd image in your hard disk. You will need about 750mb per cd and a program to make isos. Try CDRWIN, Isobuster or Blindread. Check out Aldo's site for a list of iso makers and where to get them.

Depends on your sound card. Most people use 8 for Sound Buffer and 48 for XA Buffer. But try the iso thing, it really makes difference.
