you could've searched, but since you didnt and im here already, i'll just mention that Eternal 1.41 is my favorite SPU plugin.

enable xa...
enable spu

Those settings only apply to the built-in ePSXe audio plugin. If you're using a different SPU, you need only worry about the settings that go with that plugin.

wrong. The settings apply to all plugins.
And the recommended settings are sound, cdda and XA enabled and the irq hack disabled.

Sorry...I made an invalid generalization from the fact that I've read (in many places) that the SPU IRQ Hack setting only applies to the internal SPU.

no, all the settings apply to whatever plugin it uses, that's why you shouldnt enable the SPU IRQ hack as it totally messes with things.
